My Australian Wife #4

His turn again.

The moral of the story is that when you can’t find something, you should get upset and lay face first on your bed crying- then you’ll find it! Not sure what my Wacom tablet was doing down the side of the bed.

As many of you know, I was quite sick yesterday and that’s why there wasn’t a new comic. I’m feeling a bit better today but still not 100%. I’m hoping I’m on the mend though because I hate being this kind of sick: very weak and nauseated. Korean friends and family have been asking if I’m pregnant. Definitely not haha. It’s something I’ve had before which is exacerbated by other health problems. But let’s hope I’m back to normal very soon.

It’s revenge time again! Here are some comics that my husband thought up. It’s his characters and ideas, I just draw it digitally for him.

In my defence, he sits in the middle of the room on the floor so I figure he is in easy reach of everything.

Okay the thing is…. fairies hide all my things so I can’t find them, and then when I’m looking for them they sneak them back magically, but always right after I’ve asked my husband.

My Australian Wife #2

Okay some ‘My Australian Wife’ again. My husband designs the characters and tries to think of things that were funny or weird to him and then I draw them digitally, but in his style, for him.

Australian Wife 4Okay this is true. My hair gets really tangled and knotty easily, so brushing my hair can be painful sometimes. He just laughs at me though. You don’t understand you Koreans, with your thick, shiny and silky hair! You don’t understand *sobs*.

Australian Wife 5We didn’t grow up watching the same TV shows, so there are some I have an emotional connection to that mean nothing to him.

Haha I just turned the TV on and Happy Days is on. I was like “Yeah Happy Days!” My husband didn’t even turn around from his laptop and just said “Psh”.

So when I make comics they are always from my point of view and about the funny things my husband does. For this post I’ve allowed my husband to show some things from his point of view.

He drew the characters originally for me and gave me the ideas and then I put them together for him. And yes I think that’s supposed to be muscles and a six pack on him.

australian wife 1Okay so I like chairs! Actually this is a bit of a cultural difference. He doesn’t understand the range of furniture and the fascination with it here. His parents don’t even really own chairs. I couldn’t even see a single chair in their house in Korea. So because of sitting on the floor and those small tables that can be put away, he doesn’t understand Australians’ love of furniture and renovating and picking out things like chairs for the home… So he thinks I talk about liking chairs an awful lot.

australian wife 2I always feel so bad for the fish and stuff on the ice at the fish markets! And when seafood hotpot is ordered I can’t eating anything that looks like an animal, especially the baby octopuses and prawns.

australian wife 3Yup… well can’t explain that one…
